Sunset scene
In my previous post I talked about how to create a clouds using Maya fluid effects. You can view it by clicking here. In this post I'm going to show you how to create sunset scene using Maya physical sun and sky. This method is very useful for closeup cloud sunset scenes.
Import the cloud scene. Go to Attributes Editor and set the color settings as following image. Set Input Bias in Incandescence section to 0.000.
Open Render Settings window. Set render mode to mental ray. Then switch to Indirect Lighting tab and create a Physical sun and sky. Go to Attributes Editor and open Sun Direction tab. Set rotate X axis to -10.000.
Switch to mia_physical sky tab. Set Haze value to 0.3. Set Red/Blue shift value to 0.5 and Horizon Blur value to 1.
Move the cloud 3d container little bit upward if you like. Render your scene.
